Aims & Objectives
Capita’s National Affordable House Building Conference examines how to get the best from strategic housing. The Government has committed a total of £6 billion to be invested in housing as part of its plan to boost the economy through the downturn.
With £1.5 billion being invested in the Housing Pledge, this will enable 20,000 new affordable homes to be built and create around 45,000 construction jobs. It is essential to understand how to reap the benefits of this investment.
Affordable house building offers the opportunity to tackle some wider issues including poverty, ill-health, crime and disorder. With the dismantling of the Housing Revenue Account, local authorities can access the funds to finance new build projects. This timely conference provides guidance on how to strengthen your local community and maximise the gains through building new homes.
