Aims & Objectives
"...inspection should focus on the child’s journey from needing to receiving help [...] this creates an appropriate structure for the inspection of services for children in care as well as for the inspection of child protection"
Arrangements for the inspection of local authority children’s services, Consultation Document, July 2011
Capita’s Inspecting Children’s Services Conference is timed to coincide with the implementation of Ofsted’s new inspection framework that will come into effect from May 2012, focusing on effectiveness of local authority and partners' services for children who may be at risk of harm.
All inspections of child protection services will be unannounced and there will be a greater focus on case tracking and direct observation at each stage of a child’s journey from needing to receiving help. This timely conference provides an excellent opportunity to hear about the implications arising from the new inspection framework and the repercussions for all safeguarding and children’s services stakeholders.
The new style of inspections will explore how the wishes of children and young people shape the provision of services and look at the effectiveness of help provided to children in need of protection or care. With renewed focus on improving the quality of child protection in under-performing local authorities, effectiveness of early identification and early help, and services for children in care, don't miss this opportunity to ensure your services adequately satisfy the requirements of the new inspection criteria.
Bringing together professionals from local and central government, social care, education, health, police and the voluntary sector, attend this event to share strategic and practical guidance on implementing the new framework.
