Aims and objectives

With 35 per cent of tenants describing nuisance neighbours as their biggest concern1, Capita’s 7th National Anti-Social Tenants Conference is designed to deliver practical guidance and tools to tackle this important issue

Tenant involvement and participation is rising up the agenda, as both the focus for the new Tenant Services Authority and as an integral part of the Government's Community Empowerment Strategy. It is imperative that housing providers and local authorities engage residents and communities to address issues and become actively involved in the solutions to problems in their local area.

Capita’s conference brings together experts, practitioners and key stakeholders to look at the evolving issues in:

  • Community empowerment and engaging with tenants
  • Supporting tenants suffering with mental health issues
  • Gang culture and young tenants
  • Tenants suffering with drug or alcohol addiction
  • Dealing with and educating ‘problem families’
  • Housing prolific and ex-offenders
  • The benefits of selective licensing
  • Engaging with private landlords

Building safer neighbourhoods has become a priority for those working in this rapidly evolving sector. Capita's Anti-social Tenants Conference will encourage best practice sharing and the opportunity to network with peers from across the country.
